Waffle Recipe

A delicious and simple breakfast/brunch/snack to enjoy with sweet or savoury accompaniments.  Traditionally enjoyed with maple syrup & bacon. For this recipe you will need a waffle iron.  Makes approx 5 waffles (1 waffle shown in picture)

INGREDIENTS:

150g  Oast to Host Cake Flour

1 teaspoon gluten free Baking Powder

1 teaspoon caster sugar

1 egg

280ml semi skimmed milk

40ml groundnut or rapeseed oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

METHOD:

Turn on waffle iron to heat.

Place dry ingredients in bowl large enough to mix in.  Combine liquid ingredients in a jug and add slowly to dry ingredients whisking as you do so.

Once combined continue to whisk for a minute.

When waffle iron is up to heat, grease the waffle plates with a brush of butter to prevent mixture from sticking then pour mixture to cover bottom plates, pull lid down and leave to cook.

Best eaten straight away but can be reheated in oven.

(If mixture is too thick, let it down with a little extra milk)
